Indian student goes missing in California, police seek public's help
There has been a disturbing trend of incidents aimed at the Indian community, with students being the most recent targets.

Nitheesha Kandula, a 23-year-old student at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), has been missing since May 28. Originally from Hyderabad, India, Kandula was last seen in Los Angeles, according to police reports.
Kandula, who was reported missing on May 30, was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, and having black hair and black eyes. Chief Guttierez shared a post on social media, requesting the community’s assistance in the search.
The circumstances surrounding Kandula’s disappearance remain unclear. Friends and family are concerned about her safety, as she was last seen in an area unfamiliar to her. The search is being conducted in conjunction with the university and the local police, and the police have stressed the significance of community participation.
According to the police, Kandula may have been driving a 2021 Toyota Corolla with a California license plate. Police are urging anyone with information on Kandula’s whereabouts to contact the CSUSB Police Department at (909) 537-5165 or (909) 538-7777, or the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division at (213) 485-2582.
