Indian students spread Holi joy in US campuses

Universities nationwide embraced Holi with vibrant colors, music, and unity, fostering cultural appreciation and community spirit.

Holi, the vibrant festival of colors heralding spring and symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, was joyously celebrated across various university campuses in 2025. Students from diverse backgrounds came together to partake in this colorful tradition, fostering unity and cultural appreciation.

At the University of Houston, the Cougar Woods Dining Commons transformed into a lively hub of colors and flavors. Students and faculty enjoyed traditional Indian cuisine and participated in the iconic powder throw on the lawn, embracing the festival's spirit of renewal and togetherness.

Northeastern University's Oakland campus also immersed itself in Holi festivities. Students gathered outdoors, joyfully throwing colorful powders into the air, embodying the essence of the festival and strengthening community bonds.

At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the annual "Holi Moli" event on Hooker Fields attracted a diverse crowd. Tar Heels united to celebrate love, community, and the arrival of spring, with participants enthusiastically dousing each other in vibrant hues, creating a kaleidoscope of colors.

Auburn University at Montgomery's campus was similarly enlivened by Holi celebrations. Students gathered to enjoy the festive atmosphere, highlighting the university's commitment to embracing cultural diversity and fostering inclusivity.

At Queensborough Community College (QCC) in New York, the Association of Indians in America hosted a Holi celebration, combining traditional cultural elements with a lively color-throwing event. Students and faculty engaged in dance, music, and camaraderie, embracing the spirit of the festival.

Duke University witnessed an explosion of colors as students gathered in an open space to celebrate Holi with traditional powder-throwing, dancing, and laughter. The event underscored the university's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

At Boston University, students participated in the annual Holi festival, organized by the BU Hindu Cultural Association.The event featured live performances, cultural showcases, and the traditional tossing of vibrant powders, promoting South Asian heritage.
