Jag Nagendra gets Kannada Sangha’s Person of the Year award
The Kannada Sangha of Sacramento has honored Jagadish ‘Jag’ Nagendra with the award for his leadership and contributions to the Kannada and Sacramento communities.

The Kannada Sangha of Sacramento (KSS) has honored Jagadish ‘Jag’ Nagendra with the "Varshada Vyakti 2024" (Person of the Year) award for his outstanding service and contributions to the Kannada and Sacramento communities.
Established in 2004, KSS is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting Kannada culture and language in Sacramento. It organizes events and celebrations, fostering cultural exchange and community unity.
Nagendra’s recognition highlights his dedication to building inclusive and vibrant communities. As a candidate for the Folsom City Council in 2026, he continues to champion a vision of growth and unity.
Currently serving in a leadership role at California State, Nagendra has over 35 years of experience across corporate, public, and community sectors.
Upon receiving the "Varshada Vyakti 2024" award, Nagendra said, "I am deeply humbled and honored by this recognition. This award reflects the shared efforts of our community and our values of unity, service, and cultural pride. I look forward to continuing our work to make a positive impact."
Nagendra has shown leadership capabilities, bringing people together and supporting others through his community-focused efforts. As a life coach, speaker, and emotional intelligence expert, he has inspired many to embrace empathy, collaboration, and personal growth. His work has strengthened both the local and Kannada communities, promoting cross-cultural understanding and unity.
Nagendra’s contributions align with the Kannada Sangha of Sacramento’s mission to preserve cultural heritage and foster community bonds. This recognition comes as KSS celebrates its 20th anniversary of promoting Kannada culture and serving the community.
