Jain Center of Southern California to host fundraiser for LA fire victims

Over 500 attendees are expected, underscoring the community’s commitment to supporting those in need.

The Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC), a prominent community organization in Southern California, is organizing a fundraising event to support victims of the recent Los Angeles fires.

The event will be held on Feb. 1, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM PST at its Buena Park facility, followed by an early dinner. The fundraiser, held in collaboration with 15 other Indian nonprofit organizations, aims to raise more than $200,000 to aid recovery and rebuilding efforts.

JCSC has already provided immediate assistance by delivering three truckloads of supplies, including clothing, blankets, hygiene kits, and medical supplies, to the affected areas. The fundraiser marks the next phase of their relief work, focusing on helping rebuild institutions deeply impacted by the fires, such as animal shelters, schools, and libraries.

Proceeds from the Feb. 1 event will go toward adopting and supporting an institution heavily impacted by the fires. JCSC is in discussions with potential beneficiaries and plans to announce its selection soon.

The event will feature entertainment and opportunities for community engagement, providing a platform for collective action to help those in need.

This initiative is part of JCSC’s broader mission to serve the community through “Seva in Action,” a program dedicated to humanitarian aid. In the past, JCSC has contributed to relief efforts for disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, and the Malibu/Woolsey fires.
