Indian-American executive Kevan Parekh has assumed the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at Apple Inc., succeeding Luca Maestri, who served in the position for nearly 11 years.
Parekh officially began his tenure on Jan. 1.
Parekh, a first-generation Indian-American, joined Apple in 2013 and has been a driving force behind the company’s financial strategies for over a decade. Before his promotion, he served as vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing Apple’s financial operations and contributing to its long-term business strategy.
Parekh’s new role comes with an annual salary of $1 million, underscoring the critical importance of his position. Throughout his tenure at Apple, he has held several key roles, including vice president of Worldwide Finance Support, where he managed financial functions across Engineering, Marketing, Retail, Sales, and iTunes.
Before joining Apple, Parekh served in roles of financial leadership at Thomson Reuters and General Motors, where he developed a reputation for strategic insight and operational excellence.
In August 2024, when Parekh’s appointment was announced, D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria said, "It appears that the transition to the new CFO is planned and orderly, which is the most important question. Maestri staying on with Apple is also very important, as it removes the risk of financial questions."
He also added, "(Parekh) will need to continue the prudent capital management, but may also be tasked with restarting Apple's exploration of complementary acquisitions."
