The inaugural Global Malayalee Festival is set to take place in Kochi on Aug.15-16, 2025, and aims to bring together the vast Malayalee diaspora from across the world. Under the theme "Bond Beyond Borders: Discover Your Roots," the festival seeks to reconnect Malayalees with their cultural heritage while fostering discussions on trade, investment, and global collaboration.

Organized by a network of diaspora leaders, business professionals, and cultural ambassadors from 47 countries, the festival is expected to serve as a platform for networking, cultural exchange, and economic dialogue. The event will feature keynote sessions, panel discussions, performances, and interactive sessions highlighting Kerala’s traditions, arts, and contributions to global industries.

Andrew Pappachen, director and chief organizing officer of the festival, urged the Malayalee diaspora to participate actively, emphasizing that the event is not just a celebration but an opportunity for "transformative discussions and groundbreaking ideas."

Dr. Abdulla Manjeri, managing director of the festival, described it as a convergence of tradition and modernity, integrating Kerala’s cultural heritage with new business and investment opportunities. He noted that the festival will include events such as the global trade and investment meet, the global Malayalee Ratna awards, the Miss Global Malayalee pageant, and the global Malayalee boat race.

Beyond cultural festivities, the festival organizers aim to build long-term initiatives benefiting the global Malayalee community. Plans include charitable programs in Kerala to support underprivileged communities and enhance social welfare projects.
