American billionaire entrepreneur, philanthropist, and wife of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, Laurene Powell Jobs, is set to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.
According to media reports, Powell Jobs, 61, is expected to observe the traditional ‘Kalpvas,’ a Sanatan spiritual practice that emphasizes austerity, meditation, and self-purification.
During this period, devotees renounce the comforts of life, residing in temporary tents on the riverbanks. They engage in daily worship, including holy dips, spiritual discourses, and devotional music, while consuming only two self-cooked meals a day.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, organized every 12 years, is one of the most significant religious gatherings in the Sanatan tradition. This year's event holds special significance due to its alignment with the rare planetary positions of the ‘Pushya Nakshatra,’ a celestial event occurring after 144 years.
The Maha Kumbh Mela has long been a platform for spiritual seekers. Even Steve Jobs, during his lifetime, was deeply influenced by Sanatan traditions, often visiting Kainchi Dham and following Baba Neem Karoli’s teachings.
