Lavanya Chandrashekar named CFO at News Corp

Chandrashekar will oversee News Corp’s financial strategy, drive growth initiatives, and support digital transformation efforts.

American media company, News Corp announced the appointment of Indian-American executive Lavanya Chandrashekar as its chief financial officer (CFO), effective January 1, 2025, succeeding Susan Panuccio.

Chandrashekar, who brings nearly 30 years of global finance experience, joins from Diageo, where she served as CFO and led the company through an era of rapid growth and digital transformation. Her background includes leadership roles at Procter & Gamble and Mondelēz. 

During her tenure at Diageo, Chandrashekar was noted for her strategic initiatives in digital innovation, contributing to a 10.5 percent compound annual growth rate.

Chandrashekar expressed enthusiasm for joining News Corp during a transformative period, stating, “I am fortunate to be joining this company during an exciting period of growth and transformation, and look forward to taking on the challenge of helping to shepherd News Corp into the future.”

Chandrashekar holds a B.Com in finance from Mount Caramel College, Bangalore, and an MBA in strategy and finance from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
