Manish Chandra to deliver Berkeley Haas commencement address

Poshmark CEO Chandra will speak at the Berkeley Haas MBA commencement on Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m (local time).

Manish Chandra, an Indian-American CEO and alumnus of the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, will deliver the commencement address for the 2025 combined MBA programs on May 23. 

Founder and CEO of Poshmark, Chandra graduated from the Haas EWMBA program in 1995, and is a leader in online retail and social commerce.

At Poshmark, Chandra has revolutionized e-commerce by integrating social networking into shopping, creating a dynamic peer-to-peer marketplace. Since founding the company in 2011, he has led its growth into a widely popular fashion resale platform.

Before Poshmark, Chandra co-founded Kaboodle, an online shopping site acquired by Hearst Communications in 2007. His extensive experience also includes executive roles at Sybase, Versant, and Versata.

Chandra’s entrepreneurial vision has redefined how consumers engage in digital shopping, blending human connection with the convenience of e-commerce. His leadership at Poshmark has positioned the company at the forefront of the circular economy, promoting sustainability in fashion.

Beyond business, Chandra remains deeply involved in fostering innovation and mentorship. His insights on entrepreneurship, technology, and leadership are expected to inspire the graduating class as they embark on their professional journeys.

The 2025 Haas commencement ceremonies will take place at the Greek Theatre and Hertz Hall, featuring a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Patty Juarez of Wells Fargo and Malini Singh of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. 

In addition to his MBA from Haas, Chandra holds an MS in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
