Marriott International establishes first Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad
The GCC’s establishment is part of Hyderabad’s strategic vision to attract similar investments and cement Telangana’s place as a global tech leader.
Maryland-based multinational lodging service provider, Marriott International, announced the opening of its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, India.
Expected to open in early 2025, the centre aims to enhance Marriott's technology infrastructure and global operations. To achieve this, the Marriott Tech Accelerator in Hyderabad will leverage the city’s robust tech talent to bolster the firm’s engineering capacity and security operations.
The announcement was made in the presence of Drew Pinto, executive vice president and chief revenue and technology officer, accompanied by key figures, including Naveen Manga, global chief technology officer, and John Toomey, chief sales and marketing officer, Asia Pacific.
“We have chosen to establish the Marriott Tech Accelerator in Hyderabad, India because of its world-class talent and strong reputation as a major IT hub in India,” said Pinto.

Duddila Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Minister of Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, and Industries, commended Marriott for choosing Hyderabad. He urged Marriott to explore further opportunities in the state’s tier-2 cities to decentralize development and boost economic growth.
The GCC in Hyderabad will be managed by ANSR, a global leader in establishing GCCs. This initiative underscores Telangana’s growing reputation as a technology hub, with over 200 GCCs already operating in the state.
