Mastech Digital names Nirav Patel as president and CEO
Patel succeeds Vivek Gupta, who is stepping down after nine years of leadership.

Pittsburgh-based digital transformation and Information technology company, Mastech Digital, has named Indian-American technology executive Nirav Patel as its new president, chief executive officer, and member of the board of directors, effective January 6, 2025.
Patel joins Mastech Digital following his tenure as president and CEO of Bristlecone, a Mahindra Group company. At Bristlecone, he led the transformation into the largest pure-play supply chain services provider, growing its global workforce to over 3,000 and leveraging data and AI to drive innovation.
Patel’s previous roles included senior vice president at Cognizant, where he scaled the communications, media, and technology business to over $2 billion annually.
He expressed his enthusiasm for the role in a statement, saying, “ I am deeply honored to join Mastech. The company has built a strong foundation with its talented employees, loyal customers, and trusted partners. I look forward to collaborating with the team to transform the company into a full-scale, Data and AI-led technology services leader, creating exceptional value for our clients, partners, and shareholders.”
The board of directors praised Patel’s expertise in technology services, growth, and innovation. "Nirav is a highly accomplished leader with extensive experience in technology services and a strong track record of driving growth and innovation. His expertise in data and AI-driven transformation aligns perfectly with our strategic priorities," co-chairmen Sunil Wadhwani and Ashok Trivedi said.
Patel holds a bachelors degree in computer science from the University of Madras, and finished an advanced management program (AMP) from Harvard Business School.
