Mukesh Modi, Indian American award-winning producer behind the Bollywood film Political War, has announced the release of his latest project, the Hollywood psychological thriller Torn.
The film, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the USA and UK, is directed by Ryen William Thomans and produced under Modi's D Star Entertainment banner, in collaboration with Manoj Narula of Ashwin Films.
Torn is a dark psychological drama that follows Peter Stube, portrayed by Jordon Alexander, a troubled father who retreats to the remote Appalachian town of Bilford in a bid to confront his traumatic past. Seeking isolation to heal, Stube finds himself grappling with his own inner demons as the town faces an external threat from a growing wolf population.
The tension between Stube’s psychological unraveling and the town’s fear of the encroaching wolves drives the film’s gripping narrative. As Stube becomes increasingly obsessed with local werewolf lore, his descent into paranoia and mistrust strains his relationships and leads to unexpected consequences.
Torn also stars Alfonso René Freeman, Hunter Thore, and Paula Lacewell, among others. It has already generated significant buzz for its intense storyline and its exploration of themes such as isolation, personal guilt, and the human struggle to distinguish reality from illusion. The film's blend of psychological drama and supernatural elements is expected to captivate audiences and keep them engaged long after the credits roll.
This release marks another milestone in Mukesh Modi's expanding portfolio, which includes upcoming projects such as The Elevator and Mission Kashi. Modi, who has been instrumental in promoting independent filmmaking, also announced plans for the Indie Film Festival Awards (IFFA), a platform aimed at supporting and guiding indie filmmakers through the challenges of distribution and production.
