National India Hub unveils tallest Indian flagpole in US on Independence Day
Standing at 55 feet, the flagpole proudly displays a 12-by-18-foot Indian flag alongside the American Stars and Stripes.

The National India Hub inaugurated the tallest permanent Indian flagpole in the U.S on Aug.15. It stands at 55 feet and proudly displays a 12-by-18-foot Indian flag alongside the American Stars and Stripes at one of the largest Indian community centers in the world.
The event featured a significant moment as Police Chief Bill Wolf and State Representative Michelle Mussman raised the American flag, while Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed and Harish Kolasani, along with India Hub's founding members, hoisted the Indian flag. The list of founders included Hema Rachmale, K.K. Reddy, Usha Bhaskar, Salil Mishra, Deepthi Karlapudi, Anup Patel, and Om Dhingra.
The flags, soaring high, were accompanied by the Indian and American national anthems, performed by Chicago-born Bollywood playback singer Lisa Mishra.
In addition to the flag-raising, the event showcased a cultural program emceed by Gemini Bhimani. It featured a dance performance by Kabita Dey and a Bollywood dance by Nache Mayuri and her students. These performances added a cultural touch to the patriotic celebration. "India Hub remains committed to supporting and promoting culture within our community," organizers emphasized.
The National India Hub, a 110,000-square-foot center in Schaumburg, supports 60 service organizations and offers a variety of community services, including healthcare, wellness, and cultural activities. These are all run by dedicated volunteers.
