Netflix announces Tamil original ‘TEST’
The film brings together R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth for the first time, alongside Meera Jasmine.

Netflix has announced its first Tamil original film of 2025, ‘TEST’, scheduled to release globally on April 4.
The film will bring together popular actors R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth together for the first time. The plot follows the intertwining lives of a national-level cricketer, a scientist, and a teacher as they face choices that define their futures.

Commenting on the film, S. Sashikanth, who will be making his directorial debut, with ‘TEST’ said, “This film is about resilience, the weight of choices, and how life itself is the greatest test of all.”
Speaking about his transition from producer to director, Sashikanth said, “Having nurtured stories as a producer for years, stepping into the director’s chair for ‘TEST’ was both exhilarating and deeply personal. Bringing together three powerhouse performers— R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth— for the first time made this journey even more special.”
Monika Shergill, vice-president, content, Netflix India, described ‘TEST’ as “a deeply compelling drama thriller that tests the moral thresholds of its three protagonists.” She added, “Set against the backdrop of high-stakes cricket, it’s an emotional rollercoaster that puts the lives of a national-level cricketer, a genius scientist, and a passionate teacher on a collision course and forces them to make choices that test their ambition, sacrifice, and courage.”
Produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth,’TEST’ also stars Meera Jasmine in a pivotal role. It is backed by YNOT Studios, known for producing unconventional stories.
