Netflix drops trailer for crime series ‘Dabba Cartel’

The series explores themes of ambition, deception, and survival and is set to release on Feb 28

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming series, "Dabba Cartel," a gripping crime drama that delves into the lives of five middle-class women whose modest lunchbox service escalates into a perilous entanglement with a high-stakes drug cartel. 

Scheduled for release on  Feb. 28, ‘Dabba Cartel’ is set in the bustling Indian suburbs of Thane, and centers on the women whose dabba (lunchbox) business inadvertently thrusts them into the clandestine operations of Viva Life Pharmaceuticals, a company with a sinister agenda. As their double lives unfold, the women and their families grapple with the complexities of their new reality, leading to a suspenseful tale of friendship, betrayal, and power.

The ensemble cast features acclaimed actors Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.

Creator Shibani Akhtar commented, "With 'Dabba Cartel,' we wanted to explore the extraordinary journey of ordinary household women—and how resilience, ambition, and survival instincts can push them into unimaginable circumstances." Director Hitesh Bhatia added, "At its core, it's a gripping crime drama, but what makes it special is the emotional depth and the dynamic characters who navigate a high-stakes world with courage and wit."

Directed by Hitesh Bhatia and penned by Vishnu Menon and Bhavna Kher, "Dabba Cartel" is a creation of Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda, produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment.
