The New York Cowboys were crowned champions of the United States Premier League (USPL) Season 3, defeating the Maryland Mavericks by 7 wickets in a thrilling final at Broward County Stadium on Dec 1.

Skipper Jake Lintott led the Cowboys with an exceptional bowling performance, taking 3/32 to restrict the Mavericks to 144/6 in 20 overs. Maryland’s innings were anchored by captain Shubham Ranjane’s unbeaten 52 off 36 balls and Ryan Scott’s 39 off 25, but regular wickets hindered their momentum.

In response, the Cowboys overcame an early setback after losing opener Mukhtar Ahmed in the third over. A 76-run partnership between Dilpreet Bajwa (66 off 45) and Joshua Tromp (27) steadied the chase. Although the Mavericks fought back with quick wickets, Tajinder Singh’s explosive 33 off 17 balls ensured the Cowboys reached 149/3 with 14 balls to spare.

The Cowboys’ journey to the title was remarkable, starting the tournament with three consecutive losses before winning four straight matches to secure a spot in the final. Their clinical performance in the finale cemented their status as USPL champions for the second consecutive year.

Brief Scores:

Maryland Mavericks 144/6 (Shubham Ranjane 52, Ryan Scott 39; Jake Lintott 3/32)
New York Cowboys 149/3 (Dilpreet Bajwa 66, Tajinder Singh 33)
