Brazilian Vedanta teacher Jonas Masetti and his team presented a performance of the Ramayan in Sanskrit before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rio de Janeiro. The event highlighted the passion of Masetti and his team for preserving and sharing India’s ancient traditions.
Modi praised Masetti and his team for their dedication to Indian philosophy and culture, especially their efforts to promote Vedanta and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

Masetti is a traditional Vedanta teacher recognized by the Government of India as an Ambassador of Vedic teachings in the West. He founded the Vishva Vidya Organisation in Rio de Janeiro and has been sharing the knowledge of Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita in Brazil and other Western countries.
The Prime Minister noted the significant global impact of Indian culture, stating, “It is commendable how Indian culture is making an impact all over the world".
Modi had previously mentioned Masetti during one of his Mann Ki Baat programs on radio, recognizing his efforts to connect with Indian philosophy and spiritual teachings.
