The Constitution has given American Presidents powers to issue “executive orders” at will, which is similar to amnesty by British Monarchs. All the past presidents have used this power freely whether right or wrong to protect themselves or their cronies. Some executive orders have repercussions that last for many years.
Franklin Roosevelt had issued over 3721 executive orders during his twelve year presidency, which are most by any president. While Carter had issued 320, Reagan had issued 381, Clinton had issued 364 Bush had issued 291, Obama had issued 276.
What struck people is that while Trump issued 100+ executive orders on the first day of his second term, including pardoning 1500 people that were convicted of Jan. 6 riots, canceling birthright citizenship to children of illegal immigrants and tightening border security. Democrats complain of Trump’s pardoning of Jan.6 rioters, but they justify Biden’s pardoning of his Son Hunter and other family members for prosecution of crime already committed & Jan.6 committee members from future prosecution a minute before Trump was sworn in.
It proved Biden’s political motive to punish innocent protesters (because riots were caused by hired mobsters) and go after Trump for causing insurrection. This situation is reminiscent to Ford’s pardoning of Richard Nixon after he was forced to resign in the aftermath of Watergate scandal.
Democrats are also criticizing Trump for signing executive order that denies automatic citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants by inciting legal immigrants and their children, by not telling the truth that no other country allows citizenship to illegal immigrants and their children.
