Shubhi Mishra, the founder and CEO of Raft, has been honored with her second consecutive Wash100 Award. The trailblazing entrepreneur is making waves in the defense technology sector with her innovative spirit.
Giving credit to her Raft team, Mishra in a statement said: “We don’t just embrace challenges, we run toward them with courage, breaking barriers and rewriting the playbook on how warfighters harness data autonomously.”
“Real impact happens at the tactical edge, where seconds matter and lives are on the lines,” she said. “This isn’t about tech – it’s about giving those on the front lines the decisive advantage – faster insights, smarter decisions, and mission success.”
Raft is a Washington-based defense technology firm.
Mishra added that fear is the greatest enemy of progress and Raft runs towards it with a lot of courage. “This recognition fuels our fire to keep pushing limits, challenging the status quo and shaping the future of defense.”
Executive Mosaic recognizes the most promising and outstanding executives with the coveted Wash100 Award every year. The prestigious award acknowledged hand-picked individuals who have demonstrated excellence throughout their careers in the government and government contracting (GovCon) landscape.
The Wash100 Award spotlights the best and brightest of GovCon, on the public and private ends of the spectrum. Winners are hand-picked each year by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership after a careful and competitive review process. Respective individuals are selected for their consistent accomplishments in leadership, innovation, and vision.

Jim Garresttson, founder of the Wash100 Award and CEO of Executive Mosaic, in a statement said that Mishra is building a highly scalable, rapid capability at Raft. He highlighted that she has filled out the company’s C-suite with top-tier talent.
“Under her leadership, Raft rolled out a new and improved data platform to help the Department of Defense make better use of its data, landed an Air Force contract for cloud computing and IT integration, and continued to push the boundaries of how defense contractors can operate with speed and agility.” Garresttson said Mishra’s vision is about setting the pace.
Mishra’s second Wash100 Award follows Raft’s release of an updated version of the Raft Data Platform (RDP) in January, which will help the Department of Defense organize and manage its data. By harnessing AI, the application allows in-depth analysis and rapid processing demanded by the gargantuan amounts of information passing through the Pentagon.
She said the DOD has access to a powerful platform that gives them the versatility, speed, and reliability to take control of its data landscape, and stay ahead of adversaries. Mishra believes defense contracting can change by starting a conversation about larger organizations dominating the market through performances of ‘innovation theatre’.
The defense entrepreneur said they can foster a more dynamic and effective defense sector, to counter new and emerging global threats, by placing trust in agile, specialized firms, rather than relying solely on legacy contractors.
