Rep. Ami Bera leads bipartisan launch of Quad Caucus ahead of leaders summit

U.S. Representative Ami Bera on Sept. 21 spearheaded the launch of the bipartisan House and Senate Quad Caucuses alongside Representative Rob Wittman and Senators Tammy Duckworth and Pete Ricketts.
The caucuses aims to enhance U.S. partnerships with Quad nations—Australia, India, and Japan—ahead of the Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Quad, a strategic alliance dedicated to fostering a free and open Indo-Pacific, plays a crucial role in addressing issues like maritime security, infrastructure, climate, health, and emerging technologies. As a key advocate of this initiative, Representative Bera highlighted the importance of strengthening ties in the region.
"As the Indo-Pacific becomes increasingly important to global security and economic prosperity, it is essential that the United States continues to strengthen relationships with our Quad partners,” Bera said in a statement.
“The launch of the Quad Caucus underscores our shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and development in the region. By promoting collaboration on key issues like maritime security, infrastructure, and climate, we can ensure a safer and more prosperous future for all."
Representative Bera, ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Indo-Pacific Subcommittee is known for his leadership in foreign policy. He has long emphasized the significance of the Indo-Pacific in global affairs.
