Indian American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi on Mar.19 held a town hall in Schaumburg, where he addressed the issue of protecting vulnerable immigrant populations under President Donald Trump's administration. He said that there is both the need for border security and the importance of maintaining a fair and humane immigration system.

Krishnamoorthi said that immigration is a cornerstone of America's success. "Our immigration system is our killer competitive advantage as a country. This is what makes us exceptional," he said. "Your ancestors and myself and my family made this country what it is today, and we have to continue to build that system. We can't tear it down."
