Congressman Ro Khanna, at a recent rally in Los Angeles, urged supporters to work towards a multiracial democracy for dignity and respect for everyone. Resounding Senator Bernie Sanders’ warning about the unholy alliance of wealth and power, he said the senior politician had forewarned them about it in 2020.
Khanna said Sanders is warning them about billionaires taking over the US democracy for the third time. But this time, Democrats in America are finally listening. “You have the richest guy in the world spend $250,000,000 to put Donald Trump back into the White House,” Khanna told the crowd. “Then Trump hands him the keys to slash Medicaid, gut public education, and rip food stamps away from families.”
The Democrat suggested taxing billionaires like Elon Musk instead of giving them $4 billion tax breaks. “When they talk about cutting Medicaid, we fight for Medicare for all. When they talk about cutting social security, we fight to expand social security. “When Musk fires workers, we fight to give workers a raise, raise the wage to $17. When they take away student loans, we fight to make public college and vocational education free. And when they have a trillion dollars, a trillion dollar defense budget, we fight to slash the real waste in this country, so we can feed hungry kids and get a dentist for our seniors.”
I was honored to be a co-chair of @BernieSanders' campaign.

Because for me, his campaign has always been about a better way—America’s promise.
And today, seeing the thousands gathered here—and the thousands more rising up across cities and towns— I’ve never been more hopeful. pic.twitter.com/ia81p8Rxhh
Khanna, who was co-chair of Bernie Sanders’ campaign in 2020, highlighted Sanders as the greatest progressive leader in the House of Representatives. He said Sanders spoke out for immigrant rights as human rights. “When people did not have the courage to speak out for the human rights of Palestinians, this leader spoke out with courage for the human rights of people in Palestine.”

He applauded US representative Pramila Jayapal as the greatest CPC chair. “All of the progressive legislation we got under Joe Biden because of the campaign of Bernie Sanders, All of it happened because she was the leader of the congressional progressive caucus, the greatest CPC chair, one of the greatest leader we have of progressives in the House of Representatives, Pramila Jayapal.”
