The Parrish Art Museum has appointed seven distinguished leaders to its Board of Trustees, including Indian-origin communications expert Ruchira Bhuyan. The museum is located in Water Mill, New York.
The new trustees, who bring expertise from philanthropy, global communications, healthcare, contemporary art, and real estate, include Marty Cordes, Suzi Cordish, Astrid Hill, Dr. Harvanit Gahunia, Kimberley Taylor, and Marlies Verhoeven.
Their appointment strengthens the Museum’s mission to celebrate art, artists, and the East End’s artistic legacy while expanding access to the arts for the broader community.
Ruchira Bhuyan brings extensive experience in strategy, communications, and fundraising from both public and private sectors. She previously worked with the Canadian Consulate General in New York and later held roles at Amazon and Walmart.
Currently, she serves on the boards of The International Preschools in New York and The Collegiate School, as well as committees at the American Museum of Natural History and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Bhuyan is also involved with Children’s Hope India, a nonprofit focused on education for underprivileged children, where she has helped introduce AI-driven tutoring to a girls’ school in India.
“As we begin an exciting year filled with extraordinary exhibitions and deep community engagement, we are thrilled to welcome these dynamic leaders to our Board,” said Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, executive director of the Parrish Art Museum. “Their unique perspectives, expertise, and talents will catapult the Parrish well into the future.
