Sadhvi Ritambhara calls for united Sanatan community during Chicago visit

She told devotees that people outside India are ambassadors of Indian culture and value.

Sadhvi Ritambhara, who was conferred with India’s third-largest civilian award – Padma Bhushan in January 2025 and is the founder of Param Shakti Peeth of America (PSPA), conducted Ram Katha at the Hanuman Temple in Glenview, IL during her Chicago visit from Apr. 17 to 23.

She addressed devotees at the Chicago Kalibari temple in Glen Ellyn, Jalaram Temple in Hoffman Estates, Sumiran Temple, Long Grove, BAPS Temple in Bartlett. Ritambhara, who is a motivational speaker, also addressed Sri Upasana, a spiritual organization in Naperville, and the International University of Vedic in Streamwood.

Indian dignitaries, including Vinod Gautam from Chicago Indian Consulate, the Medical Director of the Cancer Institute, Methodist Hospitals Dr Bharat Barai and Executive Vice President of Parikh Worldwide Media LLC Bhailal Patel, among others attended the event on Apr. 19.

Ritambhara, urged the Sanatan community to stay united and strong. She told devotees that people outside India are ambassadors of Indian culture and value. 

According to a statement from PSPA, Ritambhara is working on Sarvamangala Peetham, a unique and first project of this kind, developed in Vatsalya Gram, Vrindavan, India. This is to preserve and promote India’s national heritage, art & culture and exhibit its spiritual upliftment of the global society, while fostering women’s empowerment, gender equality, and harmony.

“In preserving India’s ancient legends, wisdom and value system, Ritambhara believes that women throughout the four Yugas have symbolized strength, love, sacrifice, and courage. Vatsaly Gram is a flag ship program is supporting thousands of abandoned, parentless children who are provided with care, love, and all other requirements in a community and family environment,” it said.

As such, this program provides shelter, necessities, nutrition, healthcare, education, and overall well-being. It is a holistic care center for children and special needs. There are a total of seven Vatsalya Gram facilities.
