At a fundraising event in the US on Apr.10, Indian cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar opened up about the deep personal bond he shares with spiritual leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba, crediting the divine presence in his life and the impact that faith has had on his life and career.
Speaking at “An Evening Divine,” an event hosted by WHEELS and OWOF Foundations to support a new 600-bed, totally free multi-specialty hospital set to open in rural India in November 2025, Gavaskar spoke about his journey and faith. “I think we've been, as a family, devotees of Bhagawan for more than a half century. And ever since He's come into our lives, our lives have changed for the better,” he said.
