Seattle University’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion recognized the RoundGlass India Center with the Inclusive Excellence Innovation Award.

The award honors teams that have demonstrated exceptional innovative and creative approaches to advancing inclusive excellence. The Center's efforts in fostering connections between Seattle and India through academic, business, and cultural initiatives were particularly noted.

University vice president Natasha Martin highlighted the Center as a transformative initiative that connects the university with the global Indian diaspora. “The RoundGlass India Center is one of the most exciting and enriching academic initiatives on campus,” Martin stated. “It has brought enriching scholarly engagement and educational programs, bridging the university and the region to a global community across the Indian diaspora.”

The center’s founder and executive director Sital Kalantry and manager Shannon Young, accepted the award. Kalantry, a former Cornell Law School professor, envisioned the Center to build academic, business, and cultural bridges between Seattle and India.

The Center's activities include hosting prominent speakers on interdisciplinary topics related to India and the Indian diaspora, organizing events, and fostering collaborations with educational institutions. It also supports faculty research on India, promoting social change and development in both India and the United States.
