Senator Bernie Moreno has endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy in his bid for Ohio governor, signaling strong Republican backing for the biotech entrepreneur-turned-political contender.

"I’m proud to endorse @VivekGRamaswamy to be our next Ohio governor," Moreno wrote on X. "Ohio’s future has never been brighter, and Vivek is the right man for the moment!"

Ramaswamy lauded Moreno’s support and pointed out their shared vision for Ohio and the Republican Party’s unity in the state.

"The first & sole moral duty of US elected officials is to US citizens," Ramaswamy wrote on X. "Senator Bernie Moreno understands that & doesn't apologize for it. He's a star in the US Senate & I'm proud to earn his endorsement tonight. Our party is united in Ohio & we're not going to squander it."

Ramaswamy had formally launched his campaign on Feb. 24, a month after stepping down from his role in the Trump administration. He had co-led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside tech mogul Elon Musk, working to streamline federal staffing and spending.

"President Trump is reviving our conviction in America," Ramaswamy said at his campaign kickoff. "We require a leader here at home, who will revive our conviction in Ohio."

"Build, build, build"

Ramaswamy’s campaign has centered on economic revitalization, a theme he reinforced during a Mar.23 speech called 'State of Excellence' in Tuscarawas County.

"You’re in this for the same reason I am," Ramaswamy told supporters. "We want to lead Ohio back to greatness. I want this to be the state where we build."

He painted a vision of an Ohio where economic growth is driven by deregulation and industry expansion.

"State where you can build more homes, where you can build a house without fear," he said. "The state where you can build a family, where you can build and generate wealth."

Ramaswamy outlined an agenda focused on energy and manufacturing, promising to cut government restrictions.

"Build, build, build right here in Ohio by getting the government out of the way, on our way to energy dominance, to manufacturing dominance, to AI dominance," he declared. "This isn’t just about elevating our GDP numbers. This is about a vital improvement to our economic and social fabric as a state."

He also appealed to working families, arguing that economic growth should translate into better opportunities and financial security.

"The state where a mom doesn’t have to think twice before having that second or third or fourth kid for fear of the cost of a new stroller or buying a bigger car," he said. "The state where every parent has that bone-deep conviction that their kids will go on to live an even better life than they did."
