Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar wrapped up his visit to Washington, D.C., on Mar.20, after a transformative two-day engagement focused on happiness, mindfulness, and well-being.
Thousands joined him both in person and virtually as he led a global meditation via the Sattva app, participated in Semafor’s “The State of Happiness in 2025” forum, and headlined the keynote event, “Unlocking Happiness,” at the Warner Theatre.
In a thought-provoking discussion with bestselling author and Harvard professor Arthur Brooks, Gurudev explored the intersection of science and spirituality in cultivating lasting well-being.
He also shared beautiful pictures from the event on X and wrote, “Chasing happiness can make you miserable. But when you realize that you’re here to bring happiness to others, you feel complete. A conversation on happiness with @arthurbrooks in Washington, D.C.”

In another post, he said, “Addressed The State of Happiness 2025 on World Happiness Day in Washington, D.C., at the launch of the World Happiness Report by @Gallup and @Semafor. Creating global happiness rankings is crucial to fostering awareness among nations. However, I disagree with India’s placement behind some of the countries steeped in conflict. Having traveled extensively around the world, I feel India’s ranking deserves to be much higher.”
