Two Indian American technology executives were named recipients of the 2025 Ohio ORBIE Awards, in recognition of their leadership, innovation, and business impact.
Tony Saldanha, co-founder of Inixia Inc., awarded the ‘Leadership ORBIE’ for his contributions to digital transformation and global business services while Bharath Prabhakaran, vice president (VP) and chief digital officer (CDO) at the University of Cincinnati won ‘Enterprise CIO ORBIE’ for organizations over $1.6 billion in annual revenue.

A former Procter and Gamble executive, Saldanha has over 30 years of international business expertise, advising Fortune 100 companies on digital strategy. He is the co-founder of Inixia, a global certification body for Shared Services, and the president of Transformant, a consulting firm specializing in digital and shared services strategy.
His books, Why Digital Transformations Fail and Revolutionizing Business Operations, have been widely recognized for their insights on business and technology.
As the VP and CDO of the University of Cincinnati, Prabhakaran has played a crucial role in driving digital transformation in higher education. Under Prabhakaran’s leadership, UC’s digital technology solutions (DTS) team has spearheaded key digital initiatives, focusing on IT modernization, cybersecurity resilience, and operational excellence. One notable project is the launch of BearcatGPT, a university-wide AI pilot leveraging Microsoft Azure’s OpenAI technology. This initiative allows UC to explore AI applications within a secure environment, advancing its digital transformation strategy.
“I accept this on behalf of our incredible Digital Technology Solutions team, our faculty, staff and leadership who work tirelessly to advance UC’s mission. It was a privilege to be nominated and selected as a finalist alongside such great leaders in this category and, indeed, across the board with all the finalists,” Prabhakaran said.
The 2025 Ohio ORBIE Awards, held at the Hilton Columbus Downtown, featured Saldanha as the keynote speaker. The ORBIE Awards, established in 1998, honor CIOs and CISOs who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, shaping the future of technology in Ohio and beyond.
