UConn reappoints Indrajeet Chaubey dean of CAHNR
Chaubey, an internationally recognized ecohydrology researcher, joined UConn after several leadership roles at Purdue University.

The University of Connecticut has reappointed Indrajeet Chaubey as the dean of its College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources (CAHNR).
Under Chaubey’s leadership since 2019, CAHNR has seen substantial growth in research, teaching, and community engagement, the University found after a comprehensive review of his term.
Moreover, the college's research funding more than doubled, reaching US$ 41.5 million in new awards in FY23. Enrollment figures hit record highs, and UConn Extension programs reached nearly 174,000 Connecticut residents last year.
“Dean Chaubey’s leadership has been characterized by significant achievements that align closely with the College’s mission and the broader goals of UConn,” said UConn provost Anne D’Alleva. “As we look ahead, I am confident in Dean Chaubey’s ability to continue to lead CAHNR with distinction and foresight.”
Chaubey, an internationally recognized ecohydrology researcher, joined UConn after several leadership roles at Purdue University. His work focuses on clean water accessibility and developing simulation models to aid policymakers and conservation specialists.
During his tenure, Chaubey spearheaded a strategic vision emphasizing sustainable agriculture, health, climate change resilience, and diversity. He also directs the Connecticut Cooperative Extension System and the Storrs Agricultural Experiment Station.
Reflecting on his reappointment, Chaubey said, “I am committed to fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and growth that enables our students to thrive and our research to break boundaries.”
