US-India Exercise Tiger Triumph concludes in Kakinada

India-U.S. forces showcased joint beach landings, air ops, and tech exchanges during the drill.

The fourth edition of Exercise Tiger Triumph, a bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) amphibious exercise between India and the United States, concluded on last week with a Distinguished Visitors’ Day at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

The exercise, conducted from April 1 to 11, showcased the growing interoperability and joint combat readiness of both nations' armed forces.

Senior officials in attendance included the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area, the U.S. Consul General, the Commander of U.S. Navy Strike Group Five, and the Deputy General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division.

The final day featured integrated air and sea operations, including beach landings, helicopter slithering by special forces, and coordinated maneuvers involving Mi-17 V5 helicopters and C-130 aircraft. 

The Indian Navy, Army, and Air Force conducted joint drills alongside the U.S. Navy, Army, and Marine Corps.The exercise aimed to enhance coordination in HADR missions and strengthen operational synergy under the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA). 

The harbour phase, held from April 1 to 7 in Visakhapatnam, included cross-deck visits, ship boarding drills, and expert exchanges on medical, drone, and space technologies.

Dignitaries at the opening ceremony included Jorgan K. Andrews, Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy, and Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command.
First held in 2019, Tiger Triumph continues to serve as a key platform for logistics cooperation and the integration of emerging technologies.
