New Delhi and Moscow are in advanced discussions to establish a visa-free travel arrangement for Indian tourists in Russia, with the possibility of implementation by spring 2025. This move aims to further strengthen the tourism and business ties between the two nations, making travel more accessible and fostering closer relations.
Currently, Indian passport holders can apply for a Unified e-Visa (UEV) to Russia, a process that takes about four days. Since its introduction in August 2023, the e-Visa system has facilitated travel for personal, business, tourism, and cultural purposes.
The proposed visa-free arrangement, if finalized, is expected to make travel even easier, promoting tourism and business exchanges. Moscow has become a popular destination for Indian tourists, many of whom visit for business purposes.
