Popular US retail  chain, Walmart has announced an expansion in sourcing food and snack products from India, including popular Indian brands ahead of the Diwali season.

Brands such as Britannia, Bikano, VAHDAM, Jayanti Spices, and HyFun are set to supply a wide array of products to Walmart’s U.S. customers.

Andrea Albright, Walmart’s executive vice president of Sourcing, emphasized the company's goal to increase exports from India to $10 billion annually by 2027.

"Walmart is committed to providing our customers with a wide variety of unique and diverse product offerings. As part of our goal to increase exports from India to $10 billion per year by 2027, we're excited to bring a taste of India's rich culture and traditions to our customers in the U.S during the holiday season and beyond," Albright said.

Britannia Industries will offer iconic biscuits like Bourbon chocolate cream-filled biscuits, Good Day cookies, and Milk Rusk. Bikano will introduce festive packs, featuring Indian snacks and sweets such as Soan Papdi and Gulab Jamun. These products will be available at select Walmart U.S. stores during Diwali.

Several Indian brands already have a foothold in Walmart's U.S. market. Jayanti Spices, under Walmart’s Great Value brand, offers a range of spices including garlic powder, crushed red pepper, and cinnamon sticks, a release noted. VAHDAM, a premium tea and spice brand, has products like Turmeric Ashwagandha and Turmeric Citrus Ginger tea available in stores.

HyFun, a Gujarat-based frozen food supplier, will debut products like tater tots and hash browns under Walmart’s Great Value label. Regal Kitchen's Reganic Brand will introduce ready-to-eat Indian-inspired dishes, such as cilantro and lime cooked rice, available at Sam’s Club.

Additionally, Mrs. Bectors Food Specialties Ltd will continue to provide Danish Butter Cookies, which were a hit during last year’s holiday season.
