Washington State University names Partha Pande engineering and architecture dean

His appointment is effective April 16, 2025.

Washington State University has appointed Partha Pande as dean of the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture. Pande, a longtime faculty member and accomplished researcher, has served as interim dean since February 2024.

“Partha is a tireless advocate for the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture,” said provost and executive vice president Chris Riley-Tillman. “Over the last year, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to partnership and the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.”

Pande, who has been with WSU since 2005, previously served as director of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is internationally recognized for his research in network-on-chip (NoC) technology, improving data center and high-performance computing efficiency.

An IEEE fellow, Pande has authored over 250 research papers and received nearly 10,000 citations. His accolades include the National Science Foundation Career Award and WSU’s Outstanding Researcher Award.

“In our rapidly changing world, we can occasionally lose sight of just how much our work improves lives. The Voiland College faculty, staff, and students are tackling our society’s biggest challenges and solving real-world problems. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the Voiland College and look forward to supporting its critical work,” said Pande. 

Pande holds a doctorate from the University of British Columbia, a master’s from the National University of Singapore, and a bachelor’s from the University of Calcutta.
