WH lists Modi's visit a major accomplishment this week

Trump's calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in pursuit of finally securing peace as well as his meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II were also on the list.

The White House on Feb. 14 described the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump as a major accomplishment this week.

Securing the release of Pennsylvania teacher Marc Fogel from Russian captivity, visit of the Jordanian King Abdullah, FCC launching investigation into Soros-funded radio station, introducing the "Fair and Reciprocal Plan" to counter non-reciprocal trading arrangements with foreign trading partners, and the resignations of over 75,000 federal workers were some of the other major accomplishments of the Trump Administration, the White House said.

“It was another week filled with endless wins for the American people under President Donald J. Trump,” the White House said.

Sharing the list of accomplishments this week, in a three page fact sheet, with reporters the White House said Trump hosted Modi on Feb. 13. After the successful meeting with President Trump the two leaders announced several agreements, it said.

First the two leaders set a target of US$ 500 billion in mutual trade between the US and India, more than double the US$ 190 billion in trade between the countries in 2023. They agreed to increase military equipment sales to India "by many billions of dollars starting this year" in a bid to deepen defense ties.

“Modi stated India was ready to take back verified illegal Indian migrants,” the White House said adding that the two leaders announced the launch of the US-India TRUST initiative to enhance. government-to-government, academia and private sector collaboration on artificial intelligence.

Modi and Trump agreed to move forward on US-India nuclear energy cooperation, with the countries working together to build US-designed nuclear reactors in India, said the White House.

This week, the White House said, Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in pursuit of finally securing peace. He hosted Jordan’s King Abdullah II, who announced that the Kingdom will accept 2,000 sick children from Gaza “as quickly as possible.”

 The Department of Energy approved the first liquefied natural gas project since the prior administration banned LNG exports last year. Trump declared all foreign policy must be conducted under the President’s direction, ensuring career diplomats reflect the foreign policy of the United States at all times.             

He paused enforcement of the overregulation of American business practices abroad, which negatively impacted national security. Hamas agreed to free additional Israeli hostages after President Trump declared “all hell is going to break out” if the terrorist group delayed.

“Taiwan pledged to boost its investment in the United States amid President Trump’s tariffs. Trump received his highest ever approval rating in a CBS News poll — with 70 percent of Americans agreeing he is keeping his promises,” the White House said.
