White House nominates Harry Kumar to be Assistant Sec of Commerce

Trump’s office announced a broad list of nominees for diplomatic, defense, and administrative roles.

The White House on Mar.11 announced Harry Kumar, of New York, as a nominee to serve as an Assistant Secretary of Commerce. Along with Kumar, a list of nominations for other senior government positions were also announced, sending their names to the Senate for confirmation. 

Also nominated is Janet Dhillon, of Virginia, for the position of Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation for a five-year term. Dhillon previously served as Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a position she was nominated for by President Donald Trump in 2019. She remained in that role until January 2021 and continued as a commissioner until her resignation in November 2022. Dhillon is married to Uttam Dhillon, an American attorney and law enforcement official.
