The World Vegan Vision (WVV) USA underscored the significance of vegan awareness in global discussions on sustainability and inclusivity during the third edition of the Dr. Hansa Mehta Memorial Lecture, held at the United Nations headquarters.
The event, hosted by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, focused on the theme “Global South and Women’s Leadership: Hansa Mehta Framework for Inclusive Diplomacy.

Representing World Vegan Vision at the event, global public relations director Nitin Vyas engaged with several stakeholders including Ambassador P. Harish (Permanent Representative of India to the UN), Chandrika Tandon (philanthropist in education, healthcare, and the arts), Varun Jeph (Deputy Consul General of India), Abraham Thomas (founder of GOPIO), Deelipkumar Thakkappam (Yoga Guru) among others.
“We emphasized the importance of vegan awareness, inclusive diplomacy, and community involvement, advocating for the empowerment of women leaders and the promotion of global collaboration,” a statement from WVV said.
World Vegan Vision, a non-profit founded by Indian Americans HK Shah and Malti Shah, aims to promote initiatives aligning with global sustainability and inclusivity goals.
