Excelerate Energy names Nisha Biswal to its board

Biswal’s appointment follows the resignation of Carolyn J. Burke.

Excelerate Energy, a Texas-based liquified natural gas (LNG) solutions provider, has appointed Nisha D. Biswal to its board of directors. Biswal will serve on the audit and nominating and corporate governance committees.

The Gujarat-born executive brings over 30 years of experience in U.S. foreign policy, international economic development, and trade programs. She most recently served as deputy CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, overseeing a $60 billion portfolio financing global projects in energy, infrastructure, health, agriculture, and financial inclusion. 

Biswal’s prior roles include U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs and senior vice president for international strategy and global initiatives at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“I am excited to be joining the Board of Directors of Excelerate Energy, an American company advancing cleaner energy solutions in priority markets around the world. I am proud to be working with the fantastic leadership team at Excelerate headed by its CEO Steven Kobos and the deep expertise of its board of directors led by board chairman Don Millican,” Biswal said in a LinkedIn post.  

“We are very pleased to welcome Biswal to the board of directors. Her extensive international background and experience guiding U.S. investments in developing markets aligns well with Excelerate’s strategy and plans for growth,” said Steven Kobos, president and CEO of Excelerate. 

Biswal holds a bachelors degree in International relations from the University of Virginia.
