External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to visit US to strengthen ties
During the visit, the Minister will meet his American counterparts to discuss key bilateral, regional and global issues, the Ministry said.

Indian External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar is set to visit the United States of America from Dec. 24-29, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Dec. 23.
During the visit, the Minister will meet his American counterparts to discuss key bilateral, regional and global issues, the Ministry said.
This trip is significant as it marks the first high-ranking diplomatic engagement between India and the US following Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election. It will set the precedent for the development of US-India relations under the second Trump presidency.
Jaishankar will also chair a conference of the Consul Generals of India in the USA. This is especially important as the Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, recently faced threats issued by Sikh terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, which New Delhi said it has taken "very seriously" and raised it with the US government.
The Minister earlier visited the United States alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Quad Leaders’ Summit. At the time, he held discussions with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, focusing on the India-US commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
