California-based FalconX has appointed Ravi Doshi as the new head of markets. This comes as the firm's cryptocurrency-focused CFTC-registered swap dealer, FalconX Bravo, aims to strategically expand its derivatives trading business.
Doshi previously served Chicago Trading Company for over a decade, where he primarily specialized in fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Transitioning into the digital asset space in 2018, he was the global head of trading at Genesis Trading, where he played a pivotal role in shaping systematic trading strategies and managing global trading teams.
“FalconX had tremendous growth in 2023, with 10X volume increase in options trading, as well as doubling its institutional client base. As crypto becomes ingrained in the world’s financial markets, Ravi’s experience with risk management and trading across traditional and digital assets will strengthen our leadership position in crypto markets,” remarked Raghu Yarlagadda, founder and CEO of FalconX.
Commenting on the new role, Doshi said, “FalconX plays a pivotal role in providing best-in-class prime brokerage services in digital assets.”
He emphasized the significance of making crypto markets more accessible to institutions, which, in his view, will drive increased adoption of this transformative technology, leading to a more open and inclusive financial system.
In his capacity as head of markets, Doshi will spearhead FalconX’s efforts to scale its trading business, while overseeing infrastructure and business development initiatives, a company statement highlighted.
“With Doshi’s wealth of experience and FalconX’s commitment to innovation, the firm is poised to maintain and strengthen its position as a leader in the dynamic world of cryptocurrency derivatives trading,” the statement added.
