FBI announces $10,000 reward for Indian woman missing since 2019

The FBI is on the lookout for an Indian woman who went missing in the U.S. in 2019. The agency has now announced a US $10,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
New Jersey woman Mayushi Bhagat who is currently aged 29, was last seen leaving her apartment in Jersey city on April 19, 2019, and was reported missing on May 1, that year, according to the FBI.
“The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the location or recovery of the missing person, Mayushi Bhagat, and the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible,” an FBI-issued poster reads.
As per the agency, Bhagat can speak English, Hindi, and Urdu. She was in the U.S. on an F1 student visa and was attending the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in New York City. Bhagat was last seen leaving her apartment in the evening hours of April 29, 2019. The last outfit she was seen wearing was colorful pajama pants and a black t-shirt.
“If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate,” the poster reads. As per a report from 2019, Bhagat had last communicated with her father through WhatsApp messages on May 1, 12:30 a.m. She told him of her plan to return to NJ by May 3, and wanted to be left alone. Bhagat went missing after this text exchange.
Bhagat moved to the U.S. to pursue a Master's in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications engineering. She graduated from the Vadodara Institute of Engineering in 2015, according to her LinkedIn page. Her family began a GoFundMe campaign to gather funds to pay off “substantial legal and investigative fees” incurred as they continue looking for her.
“The search for Mayushi has taken an emotional and financial toll on the family including substantial legal and investigative fees. We are fundraising to assist Mayushi's family through these difficult times,” the campaign reads. The fundraiser has garnered US $12,782 out of the $60,000 goal.
