The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) held its annual general meeting at Akbar Restaurant in Edison, New Jersey earlier this month to announce an executive team for the Year 2024.
Led by president Avinash Gupta, the team will comprise of executive vice president, Saurin Parikh, vice presidents Smita Miki Patel and Deepak Goel, general secretary, Priti Patel, joint secretary, Mahesh Dubal, treasurer, Sanjeev Singh, and joint treasurer Haresh Shah.
Speaking at the meeting, Kenny Desai, immediate past president, thanked his team of 2023 for their leadership and hard work. FIA chairman also expressed his gratitude to the previous team and welcomed the new executive team.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta who was vice-president of 2023 said his tenure was a learning experience and expressed excitement for his new role as president in 2024. He pledged to make India proud along with his team and work towards the interests of the Indian community in the United States.
“Dr. Gupta will work on various social welfare projects and humanitarian efforts to support not only the Indian diaspora but also the broader local community,” FIA said in a statement.
FIA trustees and advisory board members, H.R. Shah and Dr. Sudhir Parikh, and members from different member associations were present at the meeting.
