FIA hosts NRI conclave in Bhubaneswar to boost Indo-US ties

The event saw the unveiling of the 2025 India Day Parade theme, "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah" (May all be happy).

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) NY-NJ-CT-NE hosted its 5th NRI Conclave on Jan.7, 2025, at ITC Welcome, Bhubaneswar, showcasing the rich tapestry of Indo-US ties through cultural pageantry and economic discourse. 

The event, held ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas set to take place in the same city, drew esteemed dignitaries, including Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Sampad Chandra Swain, Odisha's Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education.

A ceremonial lamp lighting, led by Swain, FIA president Saurin Parikh, and other notable leaders marked the opening of the event while a performance by Nupurdhwani Dance Academy, featuring Ganesha Vandana and Odissi dances that celebrated Odisha's heritage provided a cultural touch.

Addressing the audience, FIA president Saurin Parikh welcomed international delegates, emphasizing the global significance of the conclave. Randhir Jaiswal, reflecting on his longstanding association with FIA, praised its pivotal role in fostering diaspora engagement. "FIA’s initiatives like this conclave are crucial for enhancing dialogue between India and its diaspora," Jaiswal noted.

Minister Swain's keynote focused on Odisha's potential as a hub for diaspora investment. "We invite diaspora entrepreneurs to join our growth journey, leveraging Odisha’s robust infrastructure and innovation-driven initiatives," he stated.

The evening also saw the unveiling of the 2025 India Day Parade theme, "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah" (May all be happy), symbolizing universal peace and harmony. The conclave concluded with strategic discussions on Odisha's tourism and MSME sectors, fostering bilateral economic and cultural exchange.
