The Foundation of Indian-Americans New England (FIA-NE), a non-profit organization that represents the Indian diaspora in the Northeast USA, announced that their Diwali celebrations set to take place on Oct. 13 will feature popular singer and composer, Kailash Kher, and his band Kailasa.
Kher is an Indian music composer and singer, whose songs and music style are influenced by Indian folk and Sufi music. In 2017, Kher received the Padma Shri award from the Indian government. He and his band recently toured the United States, performing at the Washington Raja Ganesh Festival 2024 at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Washington, and the Bharatiya Swadeshi Mela in Naperville, Illinois.
FIA-NE is hosting this event in collaboration with partner organizations to offer a shared experience for families and friends to celebrate Diwali together. Participants can enjoy the vibrant feel of the festival with music, dance, and celebrations, a release stated.
The organizers encourage community members to share the event and help spread the Diwali spirit across the region. Participants can register themselves and their friends and family members through the following link: https://tinyurl.com/kailaskher. Seating is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
