FIA New England celebrates 248th US Independence Day in Holden

The event was organized by the Foundation of Indian Americans - New England to express their love and gratitude for America, their “Karma Bhoomi”.

The Foundation of Indian Americans - New England (FIA-NE) celebrated the 248th Independence Day of the United States on June.29. The event saw a large turnout from the Indian-American community in New England, who gathered in Holden, Massachusetts, to express their love and gratitude for America, their “Karma Bhoomi” (adopted homeland).

The celebration featured live music by guitarist Mark Fleming, which set the tone for the event. Adding to the excitement was the announcement of India’s Cricket Team’s victory in the T20 World Cup Championship match.

The event was graced by chief guests Ram Gupta and Meeta Gupta, and guests of honor including former Rhode Island State Representative Robert Lancia and his wife Marian Lancia, Team Aid founders Mohan and Shama Nannapaneni, Asija Group founder Sandeep Asija, VHPA President Kaushik Patel and his wife Dr Charu Patel, and Miss Continental Worldwide Maggie Lemay. They extended warm wishes to the attendees for America’s Independence Day. Misti Nordstrom of International Mrs. North America 2024, led the singing of the national anthem, stirring patriotic sentiments among the crowd.

FIA-NE’s Vice President Sanjay Gokhale welcomed all the guests and expressed gratitude towards American leaders during and after the Second World War for their efforts in advocating for India’s Independence.
