Flushing Town Hall in Queens and Brooklyn Children’s Museum are extending the Holi celebrations on Apr. 6 with vibrant activities tailored for the diaspora. The Town Hall will host a Holi Dance Concert curated by artistic director Abha Roy, while Brooklyn Children’s Museum has planned various exhibits for the occasion.
In addition to the Holi Dance Concert, a Holi card-making workshop where participants can create mixed-media Holi cards. Using carved wood block designs from India, participants will print on colorful cardstock to create vibrant cards with pop-up Holi messages, inspired by the traditional practice of "painting" each other with powdered pigment during Holi celebrations.

Srijan Dance Company and Anup Das Dance Academy will showcase folk and classical dances from various states of India, accompanied by tabla and vocal performances by Naren Budhakar and Indian classical sitar music by Abhik Mukherjee. Additionally, Queens Curry Kitchen will offer delectable Indian cuisine and snacks at Flushing Town Hall.
The Brooklyn Children’s Museum will host a Holi party featuring art, dance, food, and music. Collaborating with Ajna Dance Company and The Culture Tree.
The event is divided into three sessions, each lasting 2.5 hours, starting at 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm respectively. The performance lineup will be consistent across all sessions, concluding with a colorful powder play experience.
