Former Indian MP C Narasimhan commends diaspora for their “significant contribution” to the US economy

C Narasimhan, former Member of Parliament in India, and chairman of Raasi Group of Companies, appreciated the Indian community for their significant contribution to the US economy. A prominent BJP spokesperson, Narasimhan made the remarks during a business tour in the US to explore opportunities for significant American investments in India’s energy sector. 

On the first leg of his tour, he attended a meeting at India House (Indian Community Centre) in Houston on May.9. The event featured addresses by DC Manjunath, the Consulate General of India in Houston, and C Narasimhan.

While addressing the meeting, Narasimhan asserted that the Indian community has played an indispensable role in shaping various sectors of the US economy, from technology to healthcare and academia. 

He emphasized the far-reaching and multifaceted impact of the Indian diaspora, particularly in the technology sector, noting that Indian entrepreneurs are the highest among all migrant groups in the US.

He stated that India is the world's fastest-growing economy, presenting ample investment opportunities, particularly in the energy and green technology sectors, which are rapidly emerging areas of business in India. He also highlighted that the Indian government is currently focusing on these sectors to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Narasimhan also expressed confidence that the Indian community in the US will continue to have an even more significant impact on the American economy in the years to come.
