Friends of MP (FoMP) NYNJ, a group of residents of the NY Tristate area, who share their heritage with the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh (MP), recently celebrated its first holiday gala at Rasoi3 in South Brunswick, New Jersey.
The holiday themed event was attended by diaspora of MP and leaders of different community organizations. It featured a photo booth with Santa in his full gear, a spread of appetisers followed by dinner as well as performances by members of the community, games and a DJ show.
During the event, FoMP conveyed its wishes and extended their support to the newly instated government in their home state of India. They also felicitated Juned Qazi (council president), Pragya Singh (Counsel - Visa, Indian Consulate) , community leaders Sunil Nayak, Sanjeev Singh, Anurag Kumar, Paresh Birla, Rakesh Agarwal, Aditi Maheshwari and Akshay Chaturvedi , president ICICI Bank (USA) for being valuable Friends of MP.
TV Anchor Jyotsna Sharma was the emcee at the event. Jitendra Muchhal, FoMP's lead volunteer, stated that the group, which began in 2015, has now grown to over 500 Families and briefed the audience on the regular events organised by the group. All families at the event received a holiday goodie bag courtesy of MP tourism and FoMP at the event’s conclusion.
