Gautam Bhatia elected to Naperville Township trustee board

He is one of four Indian-Americans who claimed victory in the 2025 Naperville local elections.

Gautam Bhatia, who is the chair of the Naperville Township Democrats, recently got elected to the Naperville Township trustee board. He claimed the Naperville Township Trustee seat with 6,939 votes.  

Others running for the seat were Loretta Burke, John Waller, Julie Federico and Nina Trivedi.

Bhatia describes himself as an inclusive leader who believes in equity, fiscal responsibility, transparency and Community First agenda. He is one of four Indian-Americans who claimed victory in the Naperville local elections 2025.

The Indian American has been involved with the Naperville Township Democrats since 2018 as a Precinct Committeeman. Bhatia has also been involved in community organizations, most notably as Chair of the City of Aurora’s Indian American Community Outreach Advisory Board from 2015 to 2019. He has worked extensively with city employees, elected officials and partnered with many volunteer groups and businesses to plan community events focused on Youth Mental Health, Diversity Awareness, and Civic Engagement.  

Bhatia has experience in fundraising, team development, and leading/motivating volunteers.  He has a BA in Computer Science, Math, and Physics, and an MBA in MIS & Operations and works as a Cyber Security Sales Professional. Bhatia has been a resident of Aurora since 2008 with his wife, son and daughter.
