Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the reappointment of Prakash “Paul” Patel to the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB).
Patel, a realtor for Weichert Realtors, who has made significant contributions to the real estate industry was first appointed to the board in 2021. As a member, he has been instrumental in shaping policies that ensure transparency and fairness in real estate appraisals across Florida.
Patel has been an active member of the Indian community in Florida. He is a member of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Orlando and has served as its government relations lead. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India.
The FREAB, headquartered in Orlando is comprised of nine members: four appraisers, two appraisal management company members, one user of appraisal services, and two Florida residents with no connection to the practice of real estate appraisal. Members of the FREAB are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate.
In addition to Patel, Governor DeSantis appointed Brandon Graves, Frank Griffin, and Nicole Ramos Jones to the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board. All appointments are pending confirmation by the Florida Senate.
